Each experience enriched by an otherworldly setting of tropical rainforests or the crystal waters of the Coral Sea, from the beach front Pool Club to the reimagined dining icon, Pacific. Great restaurant memories come from many places. The sights, sounds, scents and, importantly, the food. Working within the reimagined restaurants, bars and event offerings on the island, your passion for presentation and dedication to delivering flavour will complete each guest’s experience. By taking pride in your workspace, keeping your standards high, and giving our menu the benefit of your expertise, you’ll create some of our guests’ favourite culinary moments. The perfect complement to the unique personalised service provided by our world class front of house team. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will work in all areas of the kitchen, learning from senior Chefs in a large kitchen operation with strong culinary skills and quality offerings. You will be involved daily in the preparation and production of Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner services across all venues and special events, giving you exposure to banqueting, a la carte, bistro, fine dining and bar style cookery.
What we need from you
So if you’re charismatic, approachable, and passionate about exceeding guest’s culinary expectations and playing a key role within the Kitchen Brigade - this is your opportunity to work in this unique environment and fast track your career. To join our passionate team of foodies, you must have:• A formal Commercial Cookery Certification.• A minimum of 1-2 years experience as a Commis Chef and be wanting to grow your career and gain exposure to a refined culinary environment.• Demonstrated performance in a hotel or resort, preferably in a property with multiple restaurants, bars and banqueting department with exposure to varying cuisines, or complex restaurant environment.• Possess great attention to detail.• Excellent time management skills.• Superior communication skills.• A working knowledge and understanding of HACCP procedures.You must also hold the appropriate work rights to work within Australia alongside an open Australian driver’s license and be flexible to work weekends and evenings as required; commencing from mid to late October 2020.
