And then, when you’re at work, grow and develop your hospitality experience within a luxury service environment.

Yes? Read on; because we’ve got live on island opportunities for Food & Beverage Attendants.

As the world's largest family of luxury hotels, we all take great pride in being genuine ambassadors of the InterContinental® brand. Shaped by decades of international know-how and local insights, our passion for luxury travel spans cultures and customs. Inspiring us to create warm and sophisticated experiences for those seeking a richer perspective on the world.

Each of our hotels cultivates a distinctive style and ambience where we embrace every opportunity to give our guests a personal and enriching experience.

Nestled at the northernmost point of the Whitsundays, InterContinental Hayman Island Resort is located on Australia’s most iconic private island. Surrounded by verdant cliffs, crescent-shaped white beaches and celestial-blue sea, the Resort presents a spectacular sensory experience teeming with natural beauty and mindful enrichment. From the moment our guests step off their seaplane, helicopter or luxury yacht, they will discover an idyllic destination of privacy and pampering; where 168 beautifully-appointed rooms, basking in private pools, indulging in culinary artistry and soulful spa treatments are just the beginning.

We are now seeking motivated and dynamic professionals to join our team and bring the InterContinental life alive.

Your day to day

If you'd like to embrace a wider world of experiences and opportunities, we'd like to welcome you to the world's most international luxury hotel brand as a part of our Food & Beverage team.

Boasting a grand palette of innovation; five restaurants and bars will present an eclectic array off gastronomic delights and extraordinary local flavour. Each experience enriched by an otherworldly setting of tropical rain forests or the crystal waters of the Coral Sea, from the all-new beachfront Pool Club to the reimagined dining icon, Pacific. Having an exceptional, knowledgeable and worldly team who can bring the InterContinental Life alive is the last puzzle piece for the Resort’s delivery of rich and personal experiences.

Great restaurant memories come from many places. The sights, sounds, scents and, importantly, service.  Working within the reimagined Restaurants & Bars and bespoke event offerings on the island, you’ll welcome our guests, recommend food and beverage and deliver outstanding high end service. By tailoring each guest’s experience to their unique tastes, you’ll create memories as delightful as the dishes our world class culinary team will have carefully curated.

What we need from you

If you’re charismatic, approachable and know what it takes to exceed guest expectations, and have a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience within restaurant and bars in a hotel or resort; this is your opportunity to work in this unique environment and fast track your career. Roles will present a rare opportunity to break the mould of only having one focus and gain exposure across multiple disciplines and roles. You’ll be a rounded Restaurant & Bars team member with a focus on continuous and seamless guest service.

You will have good communication skills, excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high standards. Basic understanding of sequence of service across varying dining styles will be a must and experience working within upper scale or luxury venues will be a plus. You will need to be comfortable working in a physically demanding environment and able to carry, push or lift heavy objects and be able to frequently stand up and move about the Resorts grounds.

You must also hold the appropriate work rights to work within Australia alongside an open Australian driver’s license, Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate and be flexible to work weekends and evenings as required; commencing from mid to late September 2020.
