Your day to day

Duties and Responsibilities

FINANCIAL RETURNS

  • Ensures that Hotel’s Cost Control policies and procedures are followed.
  • Prepares the requisition for groceries and food items based on par stock.
  • Recycle where-ever possible and enforce cost saving measures where appropriate.

PEOPLE

  • Provides direction to the Kitchen helpers, including Commis, Cooks, Kitchen Attendants and Stewards
  • Communicates to Line Manager any difficulties, guest or internal customer comment and other relevant information

GUEST EXPERIENCE

  • To consistently provide and maintain the highest standard of guest care and service.
  • Appreciate the dynamic nature of the Hotel industry and extend these service attributes to all internal customers.

RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS

  • Observes and tastes food when being cooked, ensures that food is prepared according to recipes in classical and culinary manner.
  • Ensures cleanliness of all utensils, cooking equipment, working tables, cold fridges and Kitchen area.
  • Attends and participates in daily briefings and other meetings as scheduled.
  • Prepares in advance food, beverage, material and equipment needed for the service.
  • Cleans and re-sets his/her working area as per HACCP policies.
  • Demonstrate understanding and awareness of all policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety.
  • To ensure that you and all reporting staff maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Candidate must possess at least a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate, Food & Beverage Services Management or equivalent.

At least 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.

Must have pleasing personality.

Must be Hardworking,Trustworthy and Reliable.

With good command of oral and written English.

Can work under pressure and various shifts.
